About Litmus Boyz:
Childhood friends Kevin Kwena (Iamstarborn) and Solomon Ndung’u (Solow) hailing from Mathare kicked off the music careers at the early age of 12 as dancers in church doing several church concerts around Eastlands. Later on while in high school the two, together with their dance crew, were invited for a Creative’s development and training program started in the slum where their love for music was born.
They recorded their first song “Peace” as a part of a large group Mi-I- Faya (mziki in faya) inspired by the 2007/8 post-election violence. While both pursued dance (BlackBlingers-the Sakata Season 3 champions) and music, they discovered they shared a similar style and music direction hence they formed the duo Litmus Boyz in 2012 after clearing high schoo. They released their first single “Africa’s Moment” in 2012 Produced by Gittx of Rhyme-x studios.
Their musical genre RnB/ReggeaFusion is a blend of Rhythm and Swahili Blues blended with Urban HipHop and reggea influences.They have performed at the 2013 Youth International Day as their biggest stage yet and have been featured on EBruTv on the Y- connect show as guest artist.
