Joy Maringa, a certified professional Make-up Artist is also a self-taught Lip Artist. She has always had a special interest in beauty and loved makeup from childhood when she started using her mom’s cosmetics. Her mom always encouraged her to experiment with it, especially lipstick and replenished her stocks whenever they ran out.

Joy studied Marketing and Entrepreneurship for her Undergraduate and Postgraduate respectively at the United States International University before reviving her childhood passion in make-up. Her art, what she calls “lip-art” is generally inspired by her love for colour and design as well as by social stereotypes and culture. Joy’s experience in make-up and lip artistry has exposed her to countless encounters of how people perceive their bodies; and is intrigued by the human bodies and relationships human have with their bodies. She seeks to explore these relationships further through her art.

She has exhibited at the East African Art Biennale 2017/2018; and featured in the Kenya Arts Diary -2019 Edition & Art Exhibition; the Women in Art for International Women’s Day 2019 among other platforms, as she continues to mentor and train in professional make-up art.

Cold seasons has to be one of our favorite times for engagement photos, everything looks so pretty and romantic. Now at last they were beginning chapter one of the great stories no one on earth has ever read, which goes on forever; in which every chapter is better than the one before.
I choose you and I’ll choose you. Over and over and over without pause, without a doubt, in a heartbeat I’ll keep choosing you.
Engagement is the time when you have a clear view of how wonderful your coming life will be. So try to get the best vision of a great and wonderful future waiting for you

Micere Nyaga Lifestyle Portrait :: Kenyan Portrait Photographer Headwraps

The  head-wrap exists in many cultures. You can tie it as you want and make a bold statement with a nice print or fabric type. One mystery to many is:-how do I tie a head-wrap? Well, many ways are commonly used-for example- You can use a long strip of cloth wound `round the head,or utilize a few extra pieces under  the main one!!!!!! It wont be easy for the first time but within time, the more you try,the more you will find your own way and style.

I wish more people felt that photography was an adventure the same as life itself and felt that their individual feelings were worth expressing. To me, that makes photography more exciting.Even though fixed in time, a photograph evokes as much feeling as that which comes from music or dance. Whatever the mode – from the snapshot to the decisive moment to multi-media montage – the intent and purpose of photography is to render in visual terms feelings and experiences that often elude the ability of words to describe. In any case, the eyes have it, and the imagination will always soar farther than was expected.

Kenya Lifestyle Fashion Bloggers :: Diana Machira Denim and Cateye

Every weekend we share what happened on Denim  blog. This what happened this week :

3Cs: CASUAL. COZY. CHIC.

Casual-chic is a great everyday option for ladies who, despite their busy schedules, aren’t willing to pass up looking gorge every single day! It enables you to put together your comfiest pieces, have fun dressing them up with your fave accessories and go out looking and feeling great! That being said, I have decided to share my casual looks more often on here and to kick off this Casual Wear series is a tee and jeans pairing. click here. Model |  Diana Machira Of Denim & Cateye

SMART-CASUAL: CARROT PANTS

Like the name suggests, Carrot Pants are high-waisted trousers that fit loosely at the top and are tapered toward the bottom. Because this trend tends to add a little width where most ladies would rather look slimmer, pulling them off may seem like a bit of a brainer. The solution?? High heels! In fact, the higher, the better! The shape of carrot pants pants may make your legs look short and thick, so heels that allow you sky scrapper height are oh-so-necessary!

WORK WEAR 4: TUXEDO PANTS

Ever since the likes of Marlene Dietrich showed the world that it doesn’t necessarily take testosterone to rock a tux, female fashion has engaged in a playful flirtation with menswear. You can all agree that menswear makes for an effortlessly chic look, which brings me to today’s agenda: Tuxedo Pants. I honestly can’t tell you when this trend first scored big, but tuxedo pants offer a simple way to update your everyday mix and even better, the trend translates seamlessly for both the office and the weekend, giving you plenty of ways to wear the look. Shila standing along the streets of Nairobi.Cole Haan is like high fashion Nike, so you feel like you’re wearing Nike shoes, but you’re wearing heels. Every time I’m on a red carpet, I always either wear Cole Haan or Stuart Weitzman. You end up having to walk around all night in these heels and you want to be comfortable and not look like you’re in pain. It definitely shows in pictures. Nina Dobrev
Photography obviously lends itself so well towards fashion. It’s capturing that moment and that inspiration, and as a designer you are constantly walking through the world assimilating those visual references you have and so being able to solidify that into a photograph and keep it on your mood board is essential to creating a collection. Georgina Chapman
The fall couture presentations in Paris are usually my favorite moment on the fashion calendar: beautiful weather, a busy rather than manic schedule, and, let’s face it, seeing the artistry, the embroidery, and handmade magnificence that goes into every dress. Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis
I only like luxury fashion. You have to decide where you stand. I like well-made, authentic clothes, well-crafted tailoring. I also like the dream and fantasy of luxury, the exception and rarity of it. I have no interest at all in fast retail. It is ambiguous. Hedi Slimane
