Getting There / Location : Masai Mara is located in South West part of Kenya approximately 180 kilometers away from Kenya capital city Nairobi. The national Reserve can be accessed by both Road and Air transport.
If one wants to access the park through driving, we recommend 4×4 WD and it takes 5 to 6 hours drive passing through great Maasai villages with a stopover at Narok town. The roads from Nairobi city to Narok town are good tarmac but after Narok you will enter in to dusty bumpy roads up to the park.
During the rainy months of April, May and November most of the potholes collect water and some bridges will be flooded and some roads not even passable hence good to contact local operators for guide before risking self drive.
Flying options are available, one can connect directly from Nairobi in Wilson airport. You can also connect from other national parks airfields direct to Masai Mara.
