Now, we all experience those lazy days when we just don’t feel like putting too much thought or effort into the day’s outfit. Sound familiar? Well, even on such days, plaid is one great way to dress up in any ensemble! Whether you’re throwing on jeans and a tee or a simple solid-colored dress, tossing on a fitted plaid coat is a surefire way to add some pattern and excitement to your outfit, making it look like you actually tried it this morning. CHIC CADET
Military-inspired jackets started out as a trend, but have quickly become a bona fide classic! They have this tough, androgynous appeal and they rank sky-high in style and function, as long as you’re looking to brave the chill.
This week I will be sharing with you a few of my favorite looks featuring three of my favorite military-inspired jackets.
Kicking off this series is this tried-and-true asymmetrical number. Just like denim, the olive green sits fabulously with the rest of the neutrals and pairs beautifully with pretty much anything! When it came down to pairing, I opted for pearly whites and for a bit of edge, my adored pointy-toe pumps. I also downplayed my accessories, making the shoulder epaulets and perfectly polished buttons the focal point for a cool, clean, and chic utilitarian look.

Say what you will about the king of pop, but MJ’S influence over the fashion conscious: UNDENIABLE! Today’s military jacket is in fact a toast to his inimitable and legendary style. Though one can look a foolish mess trying to pull off some of his signature looks (Lol!), a girl can borrow a leaf or two and restyle it to suit her personality With his death anniversary just days away, I figured I’d pay my tribute by sharing with you a one-for-two featuring this stunning street style piece.
DIRTY DIANA
Here I tried to balance the bold and tough appeal of the jacket with a red body-con dress that hits about mid-calf. I love that the dress is sleek and effortless, making it a great canvas to pair with a statement jacket and strappy footwear that allows my towering height.
