Elizabeth & James Romantic Image :: The Nairobi Arboretum Engagement

On my way back from Kiambu to Nairobi, rushing to San Valencia to vote for P.A.K Chairperson. I received a call from Elizabeth inquiring about the charges for an engagement shoot. I think we discussed it for almost one hour, the main reason being, that she wanted to confirm that I was the real Antony Trivet and not an impersonator. Since someone had impersonated and tried to pitch for the engagement shoot using my own images from my website. This brought a new lime-light to my life that before the client settles on you as their main photographer-first, they usually do thorough research to gain confidence on whom they will be working with, But the disturbing part is if the couple out of ignorance could have relaxed and trusted the impersonator-what would be the repercussions as the photographer’s community?? Nevertheless, I approached the impersonator-we are in the digital error-we get to know the people within a snap of a figure, actually, time heals. I had a long list for damages but after apologies-had to leave everything, sometimes it’s wise to settle the disputes out of court., maybe I should write this to the Photographers Association of Kenya to address this to prevent such an event from occurring in the near future.

On a light note, some things do happen in our life for a reason-more to teach us or take another step in our life. From my comfort zone, I was forced to lock my images and disable the right-click option. I love making life simple, but when you are pushed to a corner, what do you do?

Away from copyright infringement, we had a unique photo shoot-themed-sharing wine both in the studio and outdoors.
